CHARLES H. “TIM” SANFORD ’58,
COLGATE UNIVERSITY, TRUSTEE EMERITUS
An entrepreneur in Colorado for more than forty years, Tim Sanford founded
and built a homebuilding company and more than 7,000 homes along Denver’s
Front Range. In 2001, he sold Sanford Homes to Beazer Homes, a NYSE-traded
company.
Tim is a brother of Phi Delta Theta. He earned an M.B.A. from the Harvard
Graduate School of Business Administration in 1960.
Mr. Sanford has remained active in his support of Colgate University.
He was a director of the Alumni Corporation, and then served as a trustee
of Colgate University from 1982 through 1991. Since 1999, he has served
as trustee emeritus. He is a member of the John B. Colgate Society (for
contributors of $1 million or more). He is a benefactor of the Charles
H. Sanford Field House. In 2004, Mr. Sanford founded Students & Alumni
for Colgate, Inc., a grassroots effort dedicated to improve the educational
experience at the college.
Tim’s brother, two sons, two daughters-in-law, niece and nephew
are alumni of Colgate University.
JOHN RODERICK WILSON ’52, B.A. ECONOMICS,
COLGATE UNIVERSITY
John Wilson has enjoyed three distinct careers. He was a captain in the
US Air Force piloting fighter jets in Korea and Europe; a 27-year broadcast
executive responsible for nine radio stations; and as a philanthropist
and community activist dedicated to education. He was a former trustee
of Piedmont College; served as trustee of the Atlanta International School;
is a fellow of the American Council of Trustees and Alumni; a sponsor
of The Leadership Institute; and founded the Robert Burns Cottage Foundation.
John served as a board member of the University Board of Trustees and
the Colgate Alumni Corporation. A brother of Delta Kappa Epsilon, he was
chairman and a founding member of the Mu of DKE Foundation. He is the
recipient of the Maroon Citation for Service to the college as well as
the Outstanding Alumnus Award.
John is a member and former director of The Golf Club of Georgia and
a member of the St. Moritz Tobogganing Club. In 2003, as a Cresta Run
Competitor, he won third place in the Seniors Cup. John is married to
Audrey Lundell, his wife of 47 years. Nine members of John’s family
attended Colgate University.
GREG NARAG ’89, B.A. PHILOSOPHY, COLGATE
UNIVERSITY
A brother of Phi Delta Theta, Greg is originally from Mountain Lakes,
NJ. He is a first-generation American, the proud son of a successful Filipino
immigrant.
Greg is an Austin, Texas-based broadcaster who spent several years as
a talk show producer, news anchor and reporter for one of America's oldest
and most well-known radio stations, with some of the most recognizable
call letters to be found anywhere: News Radio 590 KLBJ. In 2005 he was
recognized by the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Association as one
of the best major market specialty/beat radio reporters in Texas. He is
currently working on an independent broadcasting venture involving Internet
radio.
Prior to his radio career, Greg split his time between covering the Austin
business scene for the Austin Business Journal, and selling residential
and investment properties in central Texas. Before moving to Texas ten
years ago, Greg was involved in property management in his home state
of New Jersey at the Exxon Company, International site.
CHRISTINE BURTT, SA4C EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Christine Burtt is president of CQB & Associates, Inc., a public relations
and political consulting firm, established in Denver since 1981. She has
provided publicist services and political campaign management or consulting
for a wide range of candidates, corporate clients, and issues campaigns.
Recognized as a key political consultant, Ms. Burtt has managed or consulted
to more than 49 Colorado campaigns, 39 of which were successful. She has
conducted political training seminars in Russia, Angola, Mongolia, Indonesia,
Jordan and Morocco.
Christine is a native of Denver. She earned a B.A. in mass communication
from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a M.P.A. in public policy
from the University of Colorado Graduate School of Public Affairs.
She serves on the board of the Colorado Council for Economic Education
and the Colorado Republican Business Coalition.
